Beaches

The Algarve boasts many fine beaches, here is a selection of nine of them. All sandy, all breathtakingly beautiful.

Albandeira

This is a small two part beach amid rocks. It has parking and is just a few steps down to the beach and Snack Bar.

Marinha

This is a nice size beach accessed by a long flight of steps from a parking area at the top. The views from the parking area are stunning. There are steps leading down to a long beach and bar/restaurant and toilets. This is a popular beach and offers some afternoon shade.

Benagil

This is a small beach backed by cliffs, parking is a problem, the only place being the roadside of a steep hairpin bend. There are usually fishing boats on the beach. There is a bar, and public toilets available.

Praia Grande (Ferragudo)

This is a large beach and is accessed by a few steps from the limited parking area. There are many beach bars and restaurants to choose from, and also offers water sports.

Carvalho

This is a small cove further east of Carvoeiro past the Rocha Brava complex with a car park on the Club Atlantico development. It is accessed by a long flight of steps and through a tunnel.

Centianes

There are steps leading down to a long beach and bar/restaurant and toilets.  This is a popular beach and offers some afternoon shade.

Armacao de Pera

This very long beach runs directly in front of the village and then continues on in an easterly direction. It is distinctive by the lack of cliffs.

Pintadinho

This is a little further along the coast from Praia Grande. You can walk straight onto the sand from the parking area, there is also a beach bar and some afternoon shade
